1199 SEIU AFL-CIO has been a guiding force for hospital and health care employees in the Rochester area since 1969. What began as a small group of dedicated workers demanding fair treatment has grown into one of the most influential labor organizations in New York State.
Our local represents thousands of health care professionals — from registered nurses and certified nursing assistants to dietary workers, housekeeping staff, and administrative employees. We believe that every person who shows up to care for others deserves someone to show up for them.
